So Opus 5.5 happened.
I have a lot of things to say about how I feel about this new model launch, along with Astra a few weeks back. This feels like a huge inflection point. But that’s for another post.
Right now I’ve been burning my Claude tokens on building stuff. Mostly building old stuff I’ve been neglecting for almost a decade. Old WordPress sites. Websites that I never got around to building or updating. Even one that was hacked!
This is mostly because of the insane design and animation skills Opus 5.5 has. It’s insane. I’m still struggling to wrap my head around its capabilities. I’ll probably write more about the animation and design stuff - but there are plenty of those trending viral posts on Twitter/X you can go check 😅
Here are a few sites I redesigned and rebuilt. All of them were on WordPress, mostly using something like Elementor, which is a page builder plugin. The annoying bit was forgetting to update those damn plugins and all. The fix is Cloudflare Pages! (And Workers.) They have a generous free tier, and they’re perfect for all the static sites I’m “meant” to manage.
Starting off with my own website and blog. I’ve written before about how I had to redesign and rebuild my blog. So this time I’ve unified my main portfolio site and blog with the same look. But I also got to work on some fun and cool effects and explore some bold designs.

Next up is a website I was supposed to make for my mum’s business - which I’ve been putting off for years! I just gave the Claude agent her Instagram account and asked it to scrape everything, and then build me something that vibed with her look and feel. And here it is, now live!
Finally - a couple of sites for charities in Sri Lanka that I help manage. Or, well, meant to manage 🙈

I also got to play with some cool three.js 3D stuff for AAMMF. I just gave Claude the plans for the building, and it made this really impressive interactive scrolling page. This stuff used to take weeks or even months.
But I did all of them, thanks to AI, in a weekend.
